Dissident eating disorder education
I'm Glo V., keynote speaker and community educator behind Nalgona Positivity Pride. My talks bring an anti-colonial, harm reduction lens to eating disorders and body liberation. I've spoken on campuses, inside clinics, and with community teams who want a framework beyond the mainstream treatment model.

A perspective the field rarely hears
Traces the histories that shape eating disorders, from settler colonialism to the religious pull of diet culture and the grip of white Christian patriarchy.
Meets people where they are with autonomy and non-judgment, aiming for goals people can actually reach. Standard care fails a lot of BIPOC folks. This doesn't.
Every talk comes with theory behind it, group norms your team can adopt, and citations you can hand to a skeptical colleague. Resources ready by Monday morning.

Voices from the room
From clinicians and educators to community organizers — reflections on what shifts when colonial frameworks are named out loud.
"I left with a deeper understanding that reframed how I view my own eating disorder and how I will approach it with clients as a therapist. Truly a special training that is exactly what is missing within common treatment."
"Glo's in depth knowledge and wisdom is a guiding light. The teachings are grounded in care and compassion, which is what supports true healing. Glo is able to provide a clear and powerful vision of how harm reduction is both ancestral and necessary for healing in today's world."
"A powerful and beautiful way to remember where we come from."

A movement grown out of grassroots feminist organizing
Nalgona Positivity Pride (NPP) is a grassroots movement meeting the needs of Black, Indigenous, and communities of color affected by eating disorders. Founded in 2014 in Riverside and Los Angeles, NPP draws on indigenous matriarchal wisdom and punk influences to challenge white cultural dominance in eating disorder care.
